If I manually add a Fusion Composition to my Timeline, and double click to open it in Fusion, then run my script (using GetCurrentComp() rather than NewComp()), things behave normally. I can't view any of the nodes in the two viewer panes, and adding a Media Out node doesn't show anything either. I'm not actually sure if 4 and 5 can be fully automated with the available methods.Įven the composition that I've managed to programatically generate in Fusion seems to be in a sort of limbo state. Adds a Fusion composition to the timeline, comprising:. Pass an image, a WAV, and an SRT subtitle file to Python, which then. I'm even beginning to doubt that what I'd like to accomplish is even possible with the current state of the Resolve API. So I am doubtful that such a while loop would work. The strange thing is that there is a composition present, I just can't seem to do anything with it. setting files for individual Fusion comps but I can't figure out a way of concatenating several of those into a single, easy, import.Īnyone have thoughts or suggestions on this? The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a way of generating multiple Fusion components, with specific timings, and importing or exporting them all at once. I found a tool called SubSimple which converts SRT to FCPXML, which can be dragged into the Timeline as Text items. Manually entering line breaks for dozens of lines of dialogue is not fun. Also there's seemingly no word wrapping in any of the text tools, which is bizarre. This allows you to export your text and timing as SRT, which imports fine into DR but is hamstrung by the limited functions of subtitle track styling. Usually I would do my subtitling in Aegisub, an open source tool which has many useful shortcuts and features for speeding through dialogue quickly. I can make do ( example), but it's very labour intensive. So I've been trying to make do using the titling features of DR, but have hit a road block. The subtitling features in DR are pretty basic and not well-suited to more elaborate visualizations.
